GREAT STRIDES IN OUR WAR AGAINST TERROR : 'Civilian JTF' Smoke Out Boko Haram Members From Hideouts In Maiduguri

In what appears to be a determined effort to smoke out the remaining Boko Haram elements from their hideouts in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, some youths in the town have organised themselves into vigilante groups to begin a house-to-house search for the insurgents and hand them over to security operatives.

Operating under the aegis of Civilian JTF, the youth vigilante groups who now act as whistle blowers and informants to the security operatives go from street to street and house to house with machetes, iron bars and wooden batons in their bid to smoke out the remnants of the insurgents from their hiding places and thereafter handing them over to the  military Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno, Operation Restore Order.

Justifying their action, the youths, whose ages range from 15 and 30 years, said they were left with no choice than join in the manhunt of the insurgents for bringing untold hardship to residents of the town thus putting their own future in jeopardy.

“We are tired of this and we want to put an end to it. Since the soldiers don't really know who the Boko Haram members are, then we who live with them and know them have no option than to help fish them out,” a leader of the group who spoke on condition of anonymity to select journalists said.

THEWILL gathered that the  vigilante groups started with the youths  in Hausari ward of Maiduguri, a notorious den of the insurgents, with those in Gwange ward and Bolori area joining the vigilante later.

A member of the group, Isa Musa, said,  "We are into this to salvage our people from the Boko Haram who had killed our people, security operatives and destroyed our economy. We are not afraid of them because we are doing a just cause and God is by our side."

Maintaining that all what they require is prayers from their people, a leader of one of the groups, Abubakar Malum,  said   their will and the support of everyone in the town was enough to keep them going.

“All we want is prayers from the people and their cooperation; we are working together with the JTF soldiers. We want government to assist us with more weapons like cutlasses, iron batons and axes.

"We have lost count of how many Boko Haram we have caught and handed over to the soldiers and we are going after more of them. We have caught one recently and when he was investigated, the security operatives found huge amount of money in his bank account," Musa added.

KolkataA 13-year-old schoolgirl was gang-raped and murdered in West Bengal on Monday and her body was found yesterday lying in a bamboo grove.

The attack occurred at Gede in the Nadia district, about 150 km from Kolkata.

The Class 7 student was apparently returning from school at around 3 pm when it started raining, forcing her to take shelter in a railway shed. A boy from the neighbourhood, 22-year-old Bimal Sardar, offered to share his umbrella with her and walk her home.
As they set out, two other men apparently known to Bimal joined them, dragged the girl into a bamboo grove, raped her and then strangled her.

Yesterday, a couple of farmers spotted her body in the grove. Bimal Sardar was arrested but the two others involved are absconding.

This incident comes three days after a 20-year-old college student was gangraped and  murdered at a village just 25 km from Kolkata, triggering violent protests by locals.

In that case, the student had been attacked so viciously that her thigh bone had been broken.

A mother is currently mourning the death of her nine-month-old baby who reportedly died after a three-storey building collapsed on Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos State.
Three others including the baby’s parents were said to have sustained injuries when the building, located on 353 Agege Motor Road, Challenge Bus Stop, buckled at about 3pm on Tuesday.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Damasus Ozoani, had said that the incident occurred during the rain. “The Divisional Police Officer, Mushin, received a distress call and mobilised his men to the scene. Four people were rescued, including a baby but on getting to the hospital, the baby gave up the ghost,” he said.
A police source also added:
“The building was built like ‘Face me I face you’ (single rooms apartment) behind a four-storey building in the same compound but the landlord added two floors which weakened its foundation.
“The building came crashing around 3pm and we all rushed there to rescue people. Three people were saved and have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, a baby of about nine months was found buried under the rubble.”
According to reports, the Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Razaq Fadipe, told Punch news correspondent that rescue efforts had ended.
He said, “We received a distress call at our station at Isolo that there was a building collapse and we rushed down to the scene. Three people were rushed to hospital while a baby of about nine months was found dead.
“Rescue operations continued until no other person was found under the rubble.”
According to rescue officials, most of the occupants of the residential building were not at home when the incident occurred.
The building was said to have been built as a conventional apartment but two stories were added to it which weakened its foundation.
It was learnt that sympathisers were able to salvage some properties even before the arrival of the rescue officials.
The incident expectedly worsened the usual heavy traffic in the area.
It was learnt that state officials had sealed off and marked the building next to the collapsed one for demolition.
According to state officials at the scene, the building had earlier been identified as a distressed. He said that some of its occupants had vacated while some ignored the warning and stayed behind.

BEWARE OF WHERE YOU EAT : Popular Restauranteur Big Woman Goes Nakéd and Runs Mad After Confessing She Uses Corpse Water In Her Restaurant In Eleme, Rivers State ... VIEWER DISCRETION

Imagine the extent some people go all in a bid to make "too much money" and oppress others. This is one of the reason why those who have made money legitimately are not respected at times as there is the temptation to lump all wealthy people as crooks, one way or the other.

This woman runs a popular restaurant where men and women troop in to eat, not know that they are eating away their destinies, in this Nigeria...

She is the owner of one of the most popular local restaurant (buka) in the Eleme area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. I hear the woman confessed last weekend to using spiritual means to entice customers, as well as take their “destinies.” True life story!

According to eye witnesses, the woman, said to be from Akwa Ibom state, suddenly ran mad while at her restaurant. She started acting bizarre, tore her clothes and started confessing in the presence of customers, her workers and passersby how she used diabolical means for the growth of her business.

According to a source, she said she mixes water used to bathe corpses with her food, as well as water from her privaté part and ménstruation blood. She said she did all these to attract customers whose “destinies” she used for the growth of her business and riches.

The news of her confession spread around town and many of those who have been going to her restaurant to enjoy themselves could not believe their ears. It was sad indeed! Some of her customers (including Okada men) and angry onlookers descended on her but she was rescued by Policemen.

Eating out is cheap but with stories like this one need to be careful.

PROPHET T. B. JOSHUA OPENS UP IN RARE INTERVIEW : T.B. Joshua Opens Up About The Depth Of His Success Secret

Renowned Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua turns 50 on Wednesday June 12th 2013. In his characteristically unconventional style, he has called for the focus of the celebration to be redirected towards care for the less privileged and job creation for unemployed graduates.

Speaking on his popular broadcast platform Emmanuel TV, Joshua called on well-wishers who desired to give in cash or kind towards the golden occasion to channel such resources into charitable endeavours.

“The best way to celebrate this birthday is to be on your knees and thank God for the life of T.B. Joshua. Pray for the Church of God for a strong bond of love...
"Pray for your nation and the whole world and rededicate yourself to the acts of giving. Be a father to the fatherless and a benefactor to the needy. Raise the standard of living through the little you are going to invest,” Joshua exhorted congregants. “Those things you have for T.B. Joshua, even what you will spend on a greeting card, put it together and spend it on this commission.”

The noted philanthropist challenged viewers to examine the listed names on their phones, asking how many people were friends with the under-privileged or bedridden. “You must have many orphans and those on the sick bed as friends. Give them a call. Be a prayer partner with them and let them know there is hope. Become part of their family,” he passionately counselled.

He stated his priority project was facilitating the creation of jobs for frustrated graduates, calling on all in a position to support job-seekers to come forward. “We must get jobs for people who are jobless. This is the number one project for my 50th birthday. I am going to pursue it. Graduates are everywhere without a job. This birthday, it will be an assignment for me.”

He bemoaned the state of youth worldwide, stating a bleak future lay ahead if urgent action was not taken by those in a position to help. “If you listen to the graduates of today, you will be afraid of the future. If something is not done quickly, you will not be able to sleep and close your eyes in the future. Tomorrow will be very tough; we have to come together and do something now.”

Last week, the project began in earnest with Joshua facilitating the employment of 24 graduates in jobs, 22 of whom were not members of The SCOAN. He called on churches worldwide to join in the call for job creation with no strings attached. “If every church and organization embarks on telling people in the position to get graduates jobs instead of campaigning for money and prosperity, it will change the situation,” he stated.

He further added that these actions should not be determined by time or season. “When you start, don’t stop – let it be part of you forever. Your rewards in life are determined by how many people you have helped and the problems you have solved. This is the way the Lord wants us to celebrate this birthday at 50.”

On a personal note, Joshua said the occasion was a sober moment for appreciation of God’s goodness in his life and added determination for greater service to Him and humanity. “To whom much is given, much is expected. The Lord has given me so much in all areas of my life which I cannot reciprocate. What an undeserved blessing! At 50, I should be more grateful to God and show more commitment to His service,” the Nigerian pastor stated. Stressing that the source of his success lay in the closeness of his relationship with God, Joshua revealed, “If I could give you one clue to my success, I would say I took care of the depth of my relationship with God and He took care of the breadth of my success. Jesus will do the same for you!”

Born on June 12th 1963 in Ondo State, Nigeria, T.B. Joshua’s rise from a poverty-stricken home to an internationally renowned minister of God is nothing short of remarkable. With his birth shrouded in mystery, legend has it that Joshua was in his mother’s womb for 15 months. It is also claimed he narrowly avoided death seven days after his birth after a quarry explosion near his house sent rocks through its roof, missing him by inches.

From dropping out of secondary school in his first year to working in a poultry farm carrying chicken waste; from teaching little children while attending evening classes to washing people’s legs on the muddy streets of Lagos; from a forty day fast to receiving a divine call and starting a ministry with a mere eight members – the life of T.B. Joshua is indeed a journey of amazing grace. Today, countless thousands journey weekly to his abode in the heart of Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos to seek spiritual solace with millions more tuning in to watch what is reputed to be Africa’s most popular station, Emmanuel TV.

NUHU RIBADU GOES FOR THE JUGULAR : Ribadu Fires Back! Says Jonathan Is One Of The Corrupt Men He Investigated In EFCC

The stage is set for the monumental battle between the Presidency and the former Chairman of the EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. This is even as Ribadu may have evidences in his disposal with which he could have prosecuted Patience Jonathan as the wife of the then governor of Bayelsa State, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, over alleged money laundering.

Jonathan's spokesman, Reuben Abati had described Ribadu as an ingrate and an ethically challenged fellow but Ribadu has fired back, with very strong words.

Nuhu Ribadu, in a short but strong-worded statement to the presidency declared that it is Jonathan and not himself that is ethically challenged and struggling to redeem his lost morality and integrity.

“Reuben Abati’s statement, typical of his increasingly desperate personality, has exposed him as a fraud of a presidential spokesman who does not have the simplest level of media literacy. It is unfortunate that he stands on crooked crutches of rehashed falsehoods fabricated by corrupt politicians prosecuted by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, in his desperate attempt to hold on to his job.

“His conjectured statement is a sad commentary on the type of people we have in the helms of our affairs: even with the resources at his disposal, Abati could not conduct a little research to save himself from embarrassment before he set out barking.

“It is a huge gaffe for Abati to charge Ribadu of ingratitude as the latter has more valid stand to make similar accusation, having been betrayed after his selfless service to the nation in the Petroleum Revenue Task Force committee. The question of who is ethically challenged, however, is left for Nigerians to answer,” he said.

We can confirm the death of one of Nigeria's veteran musician ,Fatai Rolling Dollar..He died in the early hours of this morning in Lagos after a protracted illness. May His Soul Rest In Peace.

Fatai Rolling Dollar

The sun set on a star of the Nigerian music scene on Wednesday as juju highlife maestro, Fatai Olagunju, popularly called Rolling Dollar, passed away.
He died at a Lagos hospital at the age of 86.
Although Rolling Dollar was reportedly hospitalised about two weeks ago at the Ahmadiya Hospital in Ijaye, Lagos, a report said he eventually breathed his last at another medical centre in Surulere.
He was said to have been diagnosed with cancer. However, hospital sources said he complained of respiratory complications on Wednesday morning.
One of his associates, Mr. Kunle Tejuosho, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Jazzhole Records, which produced the artiste’s most successful album – Won Kere si Number Wa – recalled that Rolling Dollar did not really go through any protracted illness, as it was only a few weeks ago that he returned from the United States where he had performed.
Tejuosho said, “Baba was a great musician. He lived a life of music. He was always ready to perform.”
A thoroughbred artiste, who was particularly great as a composer, singer, guitarist and dancer, Rolling Dollar was one of the few voices that kept highlife going, after the death of many of his contemporaries, including Adeolu Akinsanya, Bobby Benson, Oliver de Coque and Osita Osadebe.
Meanwhile, Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has described the death as a huge loss to the country’s entertainment industry.
Aregbesola, in   a statement by the state Director of Bureau of Communications and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, described the octogenarian high-life maestro as a “testimony in perseverance and hope”.
The governor said Rolling Dollar’s life sojourn demonstrated that “no time is too late for man to have a breakthrough in life”.
He stressed that the artiste, who trained Ebenezer Obey in his heyday, shone at his old age when nobody ever thought of a musical success for him again after his initial popularity in the career.
Aregbesola said, “The ace musician’s ultimate comeback is a testimony that no time is late in the life of human being.
“Pa Fatai Rolling Dollar’s story of a meteoric rise to fame is a confirmation that success can come at any time in a man’s life.
“Rolling Dollar was a force to reckon with in high life music and he would stand tall in the nation’s music hall of fame and counted among musical genius like Cardinal Rex Lawson, Bobby Benson, Adeolu Akinsanya among others.
“The nation’s music and entertainment industry as well as his fans and Nigerians generally will miss the great musician and his exit will create a big vacuum in high life music.
“The government and people of Osun State, where the music legend hailed from, send our heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended families of the late musician, his band members, fans and the government of Lagos.”
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Chief Edem Duke, said the death had severed an important link between the old and new generations of musicians in the country.
The minister, in a statement said, “Pa Fatai Rolling Dollar was a copious symbol of authentic creative talent. His exploits as a musician before and after Nigeria’s independence constitute a great legacy and a reference point for musicians, performers, policy makers and researchers. His resurgence on the nation’s music scene with several hits and memorable numbers is a demonstration of the vitality, resilience and authenticity of the Nigerian creative energy.”

WOMEN IN ISLAM ... STRIGHT FROM THE HEART OF A WOMAN : One of the best minds I know, Maryam Isma Muazu, just said this from another discussion. It is profound and very educative ... ZAINAB ABBA HALIRU ON FACEBOOK

One of the best minds I know, Maryam Isma Muazu, just said this from another discussion. It is profound and very educative.
"1) Islam is still practiced using centuries old 'laws' in the 21st century. There is the belief that the Quran is the word of God so to adjust anything, even that which makes us very, very uncomfortable, to the current times is considered 'Haram'. 2) These cultures believe that an educated woman is an unmanageable woman but a 10 year old girl can be beaten, raped and brainwashed into submission. 3) The value of women in these societies is like that 'of a shoe that you use until it is worn out and tattered then simply get another one'. That is actually a common saying in different variations, across these regions. 4) which brings me to polygamy...these people are very, very poor but have several wives and many children. Traditionally, their abodes are structured in a way where once a male child becomes 8 or 9, there is an outer room for him to mov to, with other male children. No one leaves home until married. Therefore, th girls still remain in their mothers room, which is ok when they are under six. Once they get to 7 or 8, there is an unspoken embarrassment by both parents that the girls are aware of th sex taking place, even if they don't totally understand the mechanics of the action. Solution. Farm them out, killing two birds (pun intended) with one action. Less mouths to feed and less embarrassment. All these problems are the same problems all other Abrahamiac religions had to contend with, and adjust their beliefs accordingly. Muslims say that we have to practice the religion, exactly how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did and to that I say, why do we ride in cars and not camels, why do we tell time by clocks and not by the sun, why do we phone and email and not send Ismail on a camel to ride for 5 days, from Kaduna to Zaria, to deliver greetings to families? Why do we pick and join just what will remain constant especially all those thing regarding women, while providing a leeway to adapt in those things regarding men....remember in those times, women did not work and they were provided with everything and even paid for housework, childbirth etc but we never hear anything about that, abi? And as long as the religion of Islam refuses to evolve with the times, the people of Islam will lag behind in social issues in the world. On a last note, check what Algeria is in the process of doing? Streamlining Sharia laws to reflect the present society and measure it against the progress made since that began. Many would disagree with my posting. I might even get a few veiled insults but I guess Ya Allah gave me a brain, a mouth and reproductive organs for a reason and I am allowed to use any as I see fit so as a muslim, I shall not constrain my options and neither should any Muslim girl...

The Atani Chief Magistrate Court in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State witnessed a mild drama yesterday, as some people who claimed to be homos*xuals nearly disrupted court proceedings in solidarity with two suspected gays standing trial for allegedly having gay s*x.
A large number of men with feminine look started gathering at the court premises as early as 9.00 am to the surprise of the people around and it soon became obvious that they were in court to identify with two of their members who were arrested by the police and charged to court for same s*x violation.
Chanting anti-police songs, members of the group said it was wrong for the police to interfere with their fundamental rights and freedom of association.
They therefore demanded unconditional release of the two persons standing trial on a two-count charge of violating the law, insisting that they would continue to fight for their rights in Nigeria despite what they described as “the challenges the group was facing in the National Assembly.”
The suspects were however remanded in prison custody until an eligible court takes up the matter, as the court said it had no jurisdiction over the matter.

By Chiemelie Ezeobi
Sixty-year-old native doctor,  Gazali Akwedola, has confessed that he not only trades in human parts, he indeed consumes them, by using sensitive organs for pepper soup delicacy.
According to him, the taste in the human parts lies in washing it down with a hot drink, cold beer or wine. He also uses the human intestine, liver, heart, eyes, lips and tongues for pepper soup.
He said: "I like eating human parts because it tastes so good and better than animal meat especially when taken with hot drink, or wine or beer.”
Beside eating the parts for its said pleasure, he explained that eating the human flesh also notches up his trade before his clientele. As he put it, "But another important reason (for eating human flesh) is to assure my customers that it is eatable and sweet and comes to play especially in the spiritual and physical benefits. It can cure serious illness and can make one get rich quick.”
Akwedola, was one of the three other suspects who were at large when the men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) led by the Officer-in-Charge, SP Abba Kyari, raided the hideout of the ritualists last month.
The suspect who had gone into hiding when some of his gang members were arrested, was however lured out by an accomplice on the pretext that he had another ‘consignment’.
The native doctor alongside 35-year-old Alfa Taofeek and 25-year-old Kazeem Sanni, are currently cooling their heels at SARS, pending the conclusion of investigations.
The father of eight however said his dabbling into rituals was to cure people of ailments and help those who want to get rich quick achieve their aspirations.
He said: "With the human parts, I prepare charms and concoctions for my clients. I buy the human parts from Kazeem Sanni especially the human head which he sells to me between the region of N8,000 to N 30,000."
He further disclosed that he decided to buy the complete human body as it was a lot cheaper. He said: "After some time, I decided to buy the complete human body for N30,000 or N40,000 because it is cheaper especially a live human.
"Asides that, you get a lot of parts, especially costly parts from it and it is more powerful because the efficacy of the charm or concoction you prepare with live parts cannot be compared with the ones you prepare with dead parts.
"For instance, the full live human being will give you blood when you kill him. There is medicine or charm you prepare with it. The same body will give you hairs from private parts, head and some beards or moustache”.
It was not certain how he preserves the human parts.
"You can also cut out private parts. Each part of the human body is useful. Even the meat and intestine, liver, heart, eyes, lips, tongues can be used for pepper soup. By the time I cut the parts I will end up getting N100,000 or more," he said.
In an interview with journalists, Akwedola explained why he does not use his children or relations for rituals  since the money he was acquiring was for them and their disappearance would arouse suspicion.
"I prefer strangers that are from far away. It is a secret business so people in your vicinity should not get wind off, otherwise they would lynch you," he said.
Akwedola’s only regret in his dastardly venture is that he did not become rich after all, adding that despite his many criminal exploits, he found it difficult to feed his family.
But another suspect, Taofeek, said he only buys   human heads but does not kill anyone. He said: "I bought the human head and ground it and mixed it with gin drink to enable me to become rich. I have been making people rich and I wanted to attain that height too”.
Folahan, an indigene of Owode Yewa in Ogun State, confessed that he was an Islamic teacher with his own Islamic school in Owode Yewa, before he delved into rituals.
Another suspect, who also doubles as a rice seller, Sanni, said he delved into the business because his business was not moving well.
The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the series of arrest began with one Jamiu Adeleke, who was arrested by SARS' operatives in Owode town in Ogun State with a human hand which he was trying to sell for N21,000.

On Monday after school hours, a school principal in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state was found in a bush reportedly having sex with an 11-year-old pupil of his school.
Ekiti State command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Babayemi confirmed the reports as true saying the school principal, Tunde Ibitoye had been arrested for “defiling an 11-year-old pupil,” and was currently being interrogated by the police.
The girl also told police investigators that it was the fourth time it had happened.
Ibitoye was caught in his act on Wednesday. Combining reports claim that the proprietor offered a lift to the girl and another pupil of the private Nursery and Primary School and was taking them home when he stopped at a deserted place and went into the bush pretending to be defecating.
An eyewitness, Kayode Ayeni who was close by at the time said he became very curious after he heard Ibitoye calling to the girl to bring him tissue paper to clean up and she went into the bush.
Ayeni said he decided to following her after a while when she had not returned and that was how he caught Ibitoye half-naked and the girl also undressed having sex.
Immediately Ayeni and Ibitoye began arguing drawing the attention of other people around including residents of Agric Olope area of Ado Ekiti.
He was reportedly beaten up and almost killed but was spared as soon as the police arrived.
The policemen, who stormed the scene dispersed the crowd and took the suspect away.
He also said the girl’s father told the police that there was a time he noticed blood stain on his daughter’s clothes but the man thought it was early menstruation.
The proprietor, however, insisted that he did not have sex with the girl but was just assisting her home after the school hours.
But Babayemi said the girl had been taken to a hospital for medical examination, saying the result would be made public when it was out.
Babayemi said, “There is a man in our custody who was said to be caught while having sex with an 11-year-old pupil. The girl has been taken to hospital for examination and we are expecting the result.
“We are investigating to see if we can find other girls who the man might have defiled. If we find any, it would further corroborate the allegation. But we advise parents to alway ensure that their children are put in custody of responsible people.”

WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH MEN TODAY 3 : Why We Prefer Live Human Beings – Suspected Parts Dealer

Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja have arrested three fleeing members of a syndicate who allegedly specialized in selling live humans and decomposing human parts for money rituals. Their arrest came barely three weeks after some of their members were paraded at the Lagos State Police Command, where they confessed to have sold live human beings for N40,000, hands—N4,000 and head—N8,000. Those recently arrested are Gazali Akewadola (60), the native doctor who allegedly offered N40,000 for a live human being, Alfa Taofeek Akinola (35) and Kazeem Sanni (25). To the bewilderment of all, Gazali confessed that live human beings were cheaper than buying dead human parts, saying all parts of a live human being are vital in the preparation of money ritual. For instance, he said a life human being was bought for N40,000, “but at the end of the day, you get a lot of expensive parts from it. Aside that, it is even more potent because the efficacy of the charm or concoction prepared with live human parts cannot be compared with the ones prepared with dead parts. “When a life human being is killed, one will get fresh blood which is used in preparing some charms. The same body will also give you hairs from private part, head and some mustache which are used for other ritual purposes. The private part is also very useful for the preparation of effective concoction. The head, flesh intestines, liver, heart, eyes, lips and tongues can be used for pepper soup which is usually very delicious than that of animal meat. I usually take the pepper soup so as to assure those who patronize us that it is not harmful. It also fortifies one spiritually. “If you buy a full human being for N30,000 or N40,000 and pieces it, you will end up getting N100,000 or more because you will get more than 10 parts that will yield more money for you.” Gazali who hails from Folahan, Ado-Odo in Owode Yewa Local Government Area of Ogun State, further said: “I am an Islamic teacher and a cleric. I own an Islamic school in Owode Yewa. I am also married with eight children. I am also a native doctor. I cure people of their ailments and help those who want to get rich quick, by using human parts to prepare charms and concoctions for them. We use soft bones to cure epilepsy “Most of the human parts I bought were sold to me by Kazeem Sanni. He used to sell dead human head between N3,000 and N8000, depending on the market price. The soft bones that can easily be grinded into powder are very cheap. It is just for N1,000. It is used to cure ailments like epilepsy.” Asked why he did not use any of his children since he has eight of them, he said that would reduce the potency of the ritual concoction, adding that its potency depended solely on strangers being used. He said their victims were usually abducted from Lagos State and beyond, with the use of charms. He further disclosed that aside the N40,000 paid to Sanni to get him a live human being, he gave him another N5,000 and a charm to hypnotize the male victims. But he said the plan almost failed as Sanni was almost caught. He, however, expressed regrets that despite the use of human parts to make other people rich, he ended up not only being poor but arrested along the line. Money ritual charm changed my level The second suspect, Alfa Taofeek, who is also an indigene of Owode Yewa in Ogun State confessed to have bought a human head from the third suspect, Kazeem, which he grinded and mixed with local gin. According to him, “it was to enable me get rich. I am a Muslim cleric and I have been making people rich through this means but became jealous at a point and decided to get rich as well, since I was unable to get enough money from my clients. “After drinking the concoction prepared with a human head, I got more customers and made more money. I even threw parties on a monthly basis to celebrate my new level. “I also used part of the money to sponsor the graduation ceremony of some of my students in the Islamic school known as Alfa Taofeek Islamic School, at Owode Yewa.” Customs officers lured me into money rituals On his part, the third suspect, Kazeem Sanni, claimed to have opted for the money ritual business due to frustration from Customs men. He said: “At a point, business was no longer moving because Customs men at the border were always seizing the goods, at the end of which their owners would force me to pay for them. I became frustrated even contemplated selling my father’s landed property. I decided to consult Alfa Taokeek Akinola to find out the cause of my predicament. He instructed me to get a human head in order to be rich. After that, he requested a live human being. I attempted kidnapping someone so that I can cut off his head but it was not possible. He then instructed me to exhume dead body from the graves which I did and got him three at the rate of N3,000 each.” Their arrest, as explained by spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, was in compliance with the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko’s directive to SARS Commander, Abba Kyari, to get the fleeing suspects, after the arrest of three members of the syndicate on May 15, 2013, with human parts.

Scroll down for full list…
The country is placed at 41 out of 125 countries, which were measured against eight core governance categories.
These included issues such as a well functioning government, good relations with neighbours, free flow of information, respect for human rights and low level of corruption. In Africa, Botswana is followed by Namibia (51), South Africa (53), Ghana (55) and Tunisia (58).
Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and the Netherlands occupy the top five places in the index, which is maintained by the Institute for Economics and Peace. Botswana has also emerged among countries, which are considered the most peaceful in the world.
The 2013 Global Peace Index (GPI), which was released on June 11 by the Institute for Economics and Peace, working with the Economist Intelligence Unit, places the country at 32 out of 162 countries. Therefore, Botswana is above half of the European region countries measured.

In Africa, Botswana is placed behind Mauritius (21), but is ahead of Namibia (46), Zambia (48) and Lesotho (49), South Africa (121) and Zimbabwe (149). Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan and Somalia remain the world’s least peaceful countries.

TRAGEDY : Four NANS Leaders Die In Auto Accident On Way To Uyo

Donald Onukaoguu, the Senate President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and four other students have been killed in a road crash.
The students met their end yesterday on their way to the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, to intervene in the current crisis rocking that institution.
The lone survivor for the accident, who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, claimed that an illegal road block mounted by the police was responsible for the tragedy.
It would be recalled that yesterday, the police killed several students during a protest organized by students of Engineering at the university. That prompted the decision of the NANS leaders to embark on the urgent trip to Akwa-Ibom.
The Engineering students were protesting against new transport fees and other anti-student policies, including the contentious “No pay, No examination” policy.
Confirming the death of his colleagues this morning, the President of NANS, Yinka Gbadebo, blamed the tragedy on the police. “The police under the current IGP killed nine students within one week; the police action is barbaric and we call for the immediate resignation of the IGP, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar.”
However, it is yet unclear how the incident happened. The survivor of the crash claimed that the police mounted an illegal road block by putting heavy logs and stones on the road and that the unsuspecting students, who were travelling in a NANS bus rammed into the illegal barrier. According to him, the police ran away immediately the accident occurred.
Another source, has, however controverted that account, claiming that a trailer crushed the students’ vehicle.
The Nigerian police have a poor reputation of extra-judicial killings. “We are closing down all campuses in Nigeria and national action will commence immediately,” Mr. Gbadebo threatened.
In a similar occurrence last February, nine students of the Nasarawa State University in Keffi, died in a road accident at Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area as they fled from soldiers who attacked them during a campus protest.
The soldiers ao killed several students on the scene protest .
In July last year, three students’ union leaders were killed on the Owo–Akure Road. They were the Student Union Presidents of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Comrade Awopegba Oluwaseun, Comrade Akintola Abiodun of the Adeyemi College of Education, and Comrade Oyikan Olotu of the Ondo State School of Midwifery, Akure.

SHOCKING: “I buy live human beings for N30,000 and sell the parts for up to N100,000? – Arrested Islamic teacher

A self-proclaimed Islamic cleric and native doctor has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for selling human parts.
60-year-old Gazali Akewadola, was said to have killed innocent people and used their parts to perform rituals.
Police sources claim they arrested Akewadola after five suspects who were initially detained had revealed his location in their confessional statements.
Akewadola from Owode Yewa, Ogun State has since made confessions of his own following his arrest by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad defending his act as a means to cater for his eight children. He also reportedly disclosed that he began making money buying heads at the cost of N3,000 but the price went up to N8,000 so he decided to start buying human beings and then dismembering the corpses which he would use for various purposes.
He also confessed to eating some of the parts while the other parts were used in making charms for his customers with a full live human being cost between N30, 000 and N40, 000.
“I am an Islamic teacher and a cleric and I own an Islamic school in Owode, Yewa. I am also married with eight lovely children.
“I am also a native doctor. I cure people of ailments and help those who want to become rich quick. I use human parts to prepare charms and concoctions for them.”
According to reports, he was asked if he could sell the parts of his children, but he replied: “God forbid! I do ritual because the money I make from sales is used for the well-being of my children. Also, if I had killed my children and sold them, it could have aroused suspicion and my relations might expose me but if the people I use for the ritual are brought from far away, it is safer for me and my business.”
“It is cheaper to buy a live human. You get a lot of parts from it and it is more powerful because the efficacy of the charm or concoction you prepared with fresh parts cannot be compared with the ones you prepared with parts you got from the grave.”
“For instance, a live human being will give you blood. There is charm you can prepare with it. The same body will give you hairs from private parts, head and moustache. You can also cut out private parts. Each part of human being is useful. Even the meat and intestine, liver, heart, eyes, lips, tongues can be used for pepper soup.
“If you buy full human being for N30, 000 or N40, 000 and dismember it, you can end up getting N100, 000 or more because you get more than ten parts and can yield good money.”
When asked why he ate human parts, he said, “It tastes so good and better than animal meat especially when taken with hot drink, or wine or beer but the most essence of eating it is to assure those who patronise us see that it is eatable and sweet, and of spiritual and physical benefits. It can cure serious illness and can make one get rich quick.”
The suspect, who was not remorseful for his crime, said his only regret was that he had not become as rich as he wanted to be. “My regret is that I did not become rich even after selling human parts. I even found it difficult to feed my family sometimes,” he said.
